Like most of us, Avery Swartz was not immune to the “pandemic purchase.” And that’s exactly what this 1975 13′ Fibreglass Retro Boler trailer was. “We bought her on a whim, hoping that she’d bring some fun and joy to our family while we were stuck at home,” Avery explains. It wasn’t long before this pandemic purchase turned into a side hustle.
Avery bought North the Boler in September and three months later listed it on Outdoorsy. “We decided to rent North out on Outdoorsy after a number of people asked about borrowing or renting her,” she says. Fully-restored and candy apple red, it’s no surprise it’s caught some eyes, turned a few heads, and even been rented for a photoshoot.
Though Avery is just getting started, renters have already expressed considerable interest in her adorable trailer, especially for this summer. “A family wants to book North the Boler for a month this summer to drive her across the country,” she tells us. Because the trailer is small and lightweight, it’s really the perfect rig for any tow vehicle, destination, and campsite.
I don’t know about you, but if I was the owner of this vintage rig, I’d want to keep it all to myself. However, Avery shares her thoughts saying, “I just love the thought of sharing her with others so people can enjoy getting out in nature and exploring during such a tough time.”
As for the future of this side hustle, Avery may be expanding the fleet and sharing even more beautiful Bolers with the world. “If we receive enough rentals for North the Boler, we might get a second one. We just love these little trailers so much that we want to collect them! Once you experience an adventure in a Boler, you’ll want one too!”
