In 2020, Donicka and Arnold quit their corporate jobs and started an RV rental business — Basecamp RV Rentals. And can we just say, they took a giant leap and absolutely soared? SPOILER ALERT — Since listing on Outdoorsy last July, they’ve completed 40 rentals and counting with their Airstream and two campervans!
So, what sparked the transition to the RV rental business? Well, the couple and their two Frenchies have loved adventuring in their RV and thought it was time they share that love. “In the past, we always traveled for work, and we love to take our trailer so we can enjoy nature at the same time,” they explain. “We decided to start our RV rental business so other people can experience the outdoors, the nature, and go glamping.”
Needless to say, renters love traveling in Basecamp RVs as much as Donicka and Arnold do! After listing their trailer, the pandemic actually had a positive effect on the business as they saw a huge increase in rentals.
With RVing being the safest way to travel and explore right now, it’s no surprise that many people are choosing to rent for their family vacation or even their honeymoon like two lovebird renters did. “A couple just got married,” they shared, “and the next day decided to go glamping for their honeymoon for 3 weeks.” And according to their five-star review, they had a great time.
The Garcias started out by renting their Airstream. With much growth from the getgo, they added two more campervans to the fleet. And they don’t plan to stop there. The two shared big plans saying, “Our goal for this year is to add 10 more RVs/campervans to our fleet.” And with all the success and stellar reviews they’ve seen so far, there’s no doubt in our minds that they’ll do it.
“The biggest success for us was that we were able to quit our corporate jobs and open our own RV rental business,” they expressed, and you could do the same.
