The Electric Forest Festival will be held from June 23rd to the 26th this coming summer in Rothbury, Michigan, about a three hour drive from Detroit. This festival focuses on electronic bands and has grown into a wildly popular event. The festival isn’t free itself for music goers, and tickets are $29.75 for general admission. There are ways to volunteer so that you can be a part of the action and gain access to this festival through volunteering your time. This year, the lineup includes electronic music hits such as The String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar, and Major Lazer.
While the music is great, the camping experience that comes along with this festival is incredible. There’s even a hammock forest where people hang out and listen to music (photo to the right). Campers and cars are both welcome, and a small space around your vehicle will be accommodated for camping. For RVs, there is an additional campsite available for hook ups. The WE fest kicked off in 1983, and it was originally called the “We in 83.” It’s a country music festival that’s been growing ever since. This year, it will be held from August 4th to the 6th. The festival takes place at the Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, MN.
The WE Fest event is one of the biggest camping based country music festivals in the US. While this festival has tickets for purchase, it’s easy to take part in the festivities without a ticket to the show. You can help out with the event in order to forgo the standard festival costs. This year, expect to see greats such as Tim McGraw, Steven Tyler, and Kid Rock.
