About Jennifer Halpin's RV rentals

As a Stay-At-Homeschooling Mom, we can travel anywhere with our campervan/apartment-on-wheels. Last year we traveled up and down the Coast from Stinson Beach to Monterey, to Truckee and Nevada City. Now it's your turn to experience the ease of travel and staying overnight anywhere you can dream of. My favorite part of having a campervan is having the freedom to pull over and either sleep overnight or just take a nap.

Had a great trip. Interested in buying a similar van so it was great to try things out like the Nebula shower head with wand, composting toilet, parking a 170 sprinter, etc. I wish the brava oven seen in the pictures was included. Also, it’s important to know the bed in back does not go up and down. Also, other than the AC in the cab there is not AC in the back. This was not a problem for me but likely would’ve been if it wasn’t winter. There is cruise control but no adaptive cruise control. The van actually takes regular gas rather than diesel. There is no microwave oven just fyi. Stovetop and toaster oven only. Had a great time and grateful I had a chance to rent this van. Owner was very communicative and helpful.

We enjoyed our first time renting a sprinter van. The weather turned cold and rainy, so we got a feel for living in the van. The bedding provided was intended for warmer weather so we slept a bit cold. We unfortunately couldn’t get the hot water heater to work, so showers were cold and quick. The convection stove worked great, but the little oven seemed to be broken. We tried it on several different outlets with no luck. The vehicle heater and windshield defroster had popped a breaker,
so we drove through a rainstorm with cold air trying to keep the windshield from fogging. Finally found where to reset the breaker and get the heat back the second day when the sun was back out. We are taking notes about various build out elements we like and what we would do differently, so it was an educational journey.

I loved this beautiful van that Jennifer built out. Comfy bed. Everything worked great, wonderful communication! Easy pick up and drop off. Online videos explained everything before pick up. Would rent from again! Great experience! Now I want my own.

Great experience for first time van camper!Jennifer is very easy to communicate with, and prompt with answering all of my questions prior and during the trip. The van is very self sufficient (no hook ups needed for our three day trip) and beginner friendly for first time van campers! Our dog and us had a great time :)

We had a wonderful trip but not the best experience in terms of service or safety. The van made grinding noises for most of the trip when using the brakes. The suspension seemed maxed out with our gear and people and multiple times the van would (on its own) slam on the breaks because of swaying, which was very scary. The host also advertised that the van came with an oven/toaster and I had planned all my meals around this, but when she dropped it off and I asked where it was she told me she just took it out, no warning, no heads up, instead she told me to go buy one at walmart and give her the receipt when I returned and to make sure I paid in cash.I felt this was not very hospitable. We had fun and everything else worked as it should have.

Stefanie,I'm sorry you feel that I was inhospitable as I thought we had a great interaction until you asked for money in exchange for the toaster oven and I wasn't able to give it to you. At the time, I was confused why there were so many requests for discounts. The first, when you requested to not be charged for mileage on a 3500 mile trip, the second to not be charged for early delivery and the third was especially confusing since you said you needed a toaster oven and I provided a solution to purchase one and be reimbursed, but you wanted the money instead. And the last, being another chance to request a mileage discount upon drop-off.The solution I came up with was to reimburse you after you purchased the toaster oven. I asked you to pay in cash so if there were any issues with the oven after the fact, I would be able to manage that without it being tied to your credit card.Brakes in these vans are common to squeal at times, as a Mercedes Technician explained to me they don't need to be replaced until 50k miles; the van is currently at 30k miles. The brakes were checked just before your trip. I talked to your husband about this when I picked it up and he realized it must've been a rock because it only lasted for a short period.Suspension was upgraded by a Certified Installer to account for the roughly 6.5k lbs in total of a 10k lbs limit. I was reassured by a Mercedes Technician, when we were having the van built, that these Sprinters are made to handle heavy pay loads. The slamming of the brakes is a feature of these vans due to their height (ABS) for your safety when driving in high winds or driving at excessive speeds. It is recommended to slow down and drive around 70mph. The weight is actually in your favor in that situation. I have been traveling in this van for almost three years and I only experienced it the first trip when I wasn't aware we were driving 80mph in a high winded area. I apologize for not warning you of this since your husband said he's familiar with driving large vehicles. I will communicate that in the future. I'm glad you had fun and everything worked as it should've. Please accept my apologies as I deeply cared about your enjoyment and safety.

Absolutely amazing experience! This was the perfect van for me and my sisters’ roadtrip to Redwood National Park. It handles beautifully, the kitchenette is fabulous, and the bed is actually incredibly comfortable. Jennifer made the whole process incredibly easy—from first communication to pick up, it was a breeze. We had a blast traveling in this van and would absolutely rent again!

Jennifer’s van was perfect for my daughter and I. It was well equipped and furnished nicely. Jennifer was a very nice host and was flexible with my pickup and drop off times. I highly recommend her as a host and her van is the perfect little setup for two. Thank you!

We spent a whole week in Jennifer’s RV and it was everything we could’ve dreamed for our family vacation. Two beds! Toaster oven! Composting toilet! Induction burner! Solar panels! A shower!! We felt right at home everywhere we went and the amenities were as nice as any Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in… We hope to rent from Jennifer again and again.
